Revised Storyboards

These are some revised storyboards. I took out the rover and replaced it with CERA. I also tried to figure out the opening scene a little better.

Test Shoot

We had a test shoot today, and it went pretty well. I'm excited to see the footage we have, but for now. I have some photographs of the shoot.

It is clear that the costume needs some adjusting, so I'm going to have to order a smaller one and see what happens. At least I've found out that I can return the first one I got.

Nykole said she would look into something smaller, since the one she showed me originally wasn't there when she went back to get the blue top I liked.

Location Scout #2

I was able to get out to a site that might be a possible "old outpost" location for the final scene in Desolate. But it is close to the interstate and will be noisy. The solutions are to shoot the scene and plan to work out some ADR after the shoot, change the story so that the dialogue is all internal (this lends itself well to the story), or change locations.

I still need to get out and check out another possible lead for the location.

Props

Below is some material I've come up with for my props.

The Ration Packs:

    

I'm going to use an emergency blanket from a race event and my own camping pad for the shoot.

I found some bomber pilot glasses that I think will work well in the context as well, a silver flash light and a cloth that is silver.

The backpack is still being figured out. Its hard to come up with something without making it all yourself, while still keeping up with a full load of classes.

The Transmitter is something I tried to make, but it wasn't working out so well. Under pressure, I can't come up with a good concept, so I looked around for help and a friend offered to track down a possible real transmitter for me.

Movie Posters

I got a little creative today and put together some movie posters for "Desolate", the final project for my degree that I'm working on for the next few months.

Not like I need movie posters for a project of this size, but its fun to dream.
